Casio MT-18
Basic monophonic voices, but a rhythm section that's full of character.

CALL FIVE

Casio MT-18 (1986)

The Casio MT-18 is the larger (but still small) version of the PT-80, with 8 monophonic sounds that range from thin to shrill. The rhythm section is where this comes into its own, though, with some great grooves and blips in the key of D.

All sounds you hear in the track were made using the MT-18 and recorded to a DAW, where compression, EQ, and reverb were added as required (I boosted the low end on the rhythm parts). The rhythms were also run through a Native Instruments delay plugin, while the lead Clarinet part went through a Boss DD7 delay pedal.

This track is from the Once album.
